William McEachnie, Aline Ainslie, Carolyne Green, Rose Halendy and Patricia Hinkson have set up an endowment fund at Vancouver Foundation in memory of Patty McEachnie for the purpose of helping people with cancer to assist with extra support they may require. While enduring radiation therapy, Patty told her husband, Bill, that she saw ladybugs instead of the bright lights often reported by patients undergoing treatment. Originating out of Patty’s compassion for other people experiencing long and difficult cancer treatments and her dream to help them through this daunting ordeal, the Patty's Ladybug Cancer Fund was established in March 2003 with an initial investment of $10,000.
WHAT IS AN ENDOWMENT?
An endowment is a fund where the capital is held for the long term and invested. Income generated from the capital held in an endowment provides stable funding in perpetuity for an organization.

HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE?
Contributions to Patty's Ladybug Cancer Fund at Vancouver Foundation can be made at any time and in any amount. Vancouver Foundation will notify the fund holder when gifts are made into the fund and will send you a tax receipt for the amount of your gift.

Step 2: Select ‘To a specific fund’ and search for "ladybug"
Step 3: Click on the Fund name and fill in the remaining information.
If you wish to donate by cheque, please make your cheque payable to Vancouver Foundation, referencing Patty's Ladybug Cancer Fund on the memo line.
